The Saratoga Springs Task Force on Homelessness is one step closer to finding a permanent location for a homeless shelter.

Monday night, the task force announced it narrowed the search down to eight locations, including Lake Avenue; Route 29; Route 9; East and Maple avenues; South Broadway; and two separate locations on North Avenue.

Right now, there is a temporary shelter on Adelphi Street, run by Rise Housing and Support Services, but the city is working to find a more permanent solution.

The task force is expected to vote on a final location July 13.
