Albany is dealing with the aftermath of a violent weekend that saw two men shot and killed.

The men — 28-year-old Deandre Morrison and 25-year-old Benjamin Rowe — were both shot early Sunday morning in separate incidents, dying at Albany Medical Center. Police say that, at this point, they don't believe the shootings are connected.

Albany Police Chief Eric Hawkins said in a statement Sunday that the investigations are ongoing.

"I am deeply troubled by recent incidents in our community that have tragically claimed the lives of three young men," Hawkins said in the statement. "Resorting to gun violence to resolve disputes or conflicts is never the answer and has traumatic impacts on lives, families and our community as a whole."
