Troy officials say a water main break that had closed an intersection Friday morning has now been isolated.

The break led to the closure of the intersection of Fourth and Federal streets in Troy, but the city later announced that the break, which they say disrupted service to South Troy, had been isolated and water service was restored.

A CDTA bus was caught in a sinkhole related to the break at the intersection of Fourth and Federal.

The city says water pressure should return shortly, but that discolored water may need to be cleared from your pipes by running water for 5 minutes or more. Troy officials added that no boil order is in place.

"As a result of the initial water main break, DPU officials are investigating the possibility of additional, more localized water line disruptions," read a city press release. "These disruptions are anticipated to be specific to localized water delivery and residents who may be affected will be notified by city staff knocking on doors."

The city of Rensselaer announced a conservation notice, saying residents could expect low water pressure. The advisory is in place for the "next 24 hours until the water break is repaired and another advisory is released from my office," according to a statement from Rensselaer Mayor Michael Stammel.

"There is no water being pumped to our Storage Tank at this time due to the water break in Troy," the statement read. "Currently, the Water Storage Tank for the City of Rensselaer is at 38 feet, and the City normally uses approximately a foot of water an hour."
