A 13-year-old boy is dead after a car chase with police ended in a crash in Albany on Monday.
Police say it began Monday evening with the driver of an alleged stolen car fleeing from police, then colliding with another car at Northern Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue before stopping near Broadway and Lawn Avenue.
Six people, ranging from 13 to 15 years old, were in the vehicle, according to Albany police. One of them, a 13-year-old, was injured in the crash and pronounced dead at a hospital.
The other passengers, police say, were taken into custody; the driver of the other car in the crash "does not appear to be injured," according to police. No identities have been released.
The crash is still under investigation.
