The Schenectady Police Department is continuing its reform efforts by naming members of its new task force.

Chief Eric Clifford and Mayor Gary McCarthy are co-leading it.

Doctor Odo Butler, the president of Schenectady's NAACP branch, is also involved, along with leaders with Schenectady Clergy Against Hate, and the Schenectady Guyanese Community Center.

It was a Schenectady officer arresting a man from the city's Guyanese community, while using his knee in the head and neck area earlier this month, which sparked protests and pushed the pace of reform.

Measures already in place for the department include a ban on using the knee in that way.

The task force now says it's working on a timeline for discussions, and choosing a moderator.
