Cohoes Police are investigating a homicide that happened Tuesday afternoon on Lansing Street near Schuyler Street.

According to police, Tyshawn Daniels, 18, was shot multiple times in the arm, leg and torso. The victim was air lifted to the hospital for treatment, where he later died.

Police said that the suspect fled the scene, and they don't have anyone in custody at this time.

Mayor Bill Keeler said he's saddened by this violence.

"Any time you have a homicide, it's tragic. The victim was a Cohoes resident, so he was familiar with the area," Keeler said.

State Police are assisting with the ongoing investigation. Cohoes Police are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
