A judge is preventing the Hussain family — who owned and operator the limo that crashed in Schoharie last year — from selling a number of properties in the Capital Region.

That includes the Crest Inn Suites and Cottages in Wilton, as well as three other properties.

The family of one of the victims of that crash, Amanda Halse, filed to block the sale of the motel.

Lawyers argue that the Hussain family is trying to sell them ahead of any decision on the lawsuits filed against them, which could exceed their insurance coverage of $500,000.

This comes just a week after the Department of Health condemned the motel over health concerns.

Nauman Hussain also faces 20 counts of criminally negligent homicide and manslaughter in connection with the Schoharie limousine crash.
