The New York Power Authority now has complete control of a solar energy project in Washington County.

Governor Kathy Hochul's office says the public-benefit corporation owned by the state has taken over the Somers Solar project in Fort Edward.

The governor's office says a corporation under the authority's control will build a 20-megawatt facility covering approximately 150 acres in the area.

The project was previously under the control of a New Jersey company, CS Energy, which the state now expects to see invest in other renewable projects.
