An F-15 fighter jet given to the Empire AeroSciences Museum at Stratton Air Guard Base arrived by flight Monday morning in Schenectady County.

Assigned to the Massachusetts Air National Guard's 104th Fighter Wing, the F-15C Eagle air superiority fighter made a 13-minute journey to the Schenectady County Airport from the Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield, Massachusetts.

The wing has been flying F-15s since 2007, but is moving to the F-35 Lighting II next year.

Members of the New York Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing will decommission the aircraft and transfer it to the museum for display on Aug. 16.
