Albany County Executive Dan McCoy, along with a group of other New York county executives, is in Texas this week to assess the ongoing issues at the southern border.

The trip is organized through the National Association of Counties, which is led by McCoy.

A spokesperson for the association says the goal of the visit is to help counties better understand the migrant crisis and how they can advocate for ways to help address the surge.

The county executives, including McCoy, are set to return to New York tomorrow.
