A $3.3 million revitalization project officially steps off in the city of Albany today.
The "Lark Street Streetscape" will focus on areas between Madison Avenue and Washington Avenue. Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan says city contractors are set to mobilize equipment, install work zone signage and complete a final survey today.
Physical construction is scheduled to start next Monday, Aug. 7.
Improvements to the Lark Street Streetscape will include the restoration of pavement, removal of cobblestone intersections, restoration of ADA ramps and pedestrian warnings as well as new park benches and bike racks. The project is expected to be completed by late fall of this year.
