The lacrosse community is mourning the loss of one of its great ones.

Colin Clive, who played in the MAAC for the Siena College Saints, passed away this week following a five-year battle with brain cancer.

As a freshman in 2011, Clive led Siena to the MAAC championship and was named the most outstanding player of the tournament. He led the Saints to another championship his senior year.

Clive's presence was felt across the lacrosse world.

After losing his parents within days of one another in 2021, a fundraiser was set up to help Clive, an only child, with his medical bills. Nearly 13,000 people donated and raised more than $800,000.

Clive leaves behind a great legacy on and off the field.

"Can't say enough good things about Colin, as a player, as a student," said Brian Brecht, former Siena coach. "He left his mark on Siena lacrosse for the four years he was there, and I was proud to coach him as a freshmen. Thankful for the time we had to spend together."

Clive was just 31 years old.
