Food, music and Latin culture were displayed at the Albany Latin Festival in Washington Park on Saturday. People came from all over the Capital Region to pay tribute to their roots.
Albany resident Angel Colon says it was like coming home.
"It's like coming back to my culture and I'm from Puerto Rico,” Colon said. “So it's nice coming to something that reminds me of home.”
Following a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival returned to celebrate 25 years. Attendees were delighted to be back among one another after an absence caused by the pandemic.
"It is always wonderful to come back and show some culture,” La Ruta Del Sol restaurant owner Ana Nemar said.
A spokesperson for Albany Latin Festival Treasurer Pedro Diaz says that the festival will only continue to grow and become bigger and better each year.
