Ibi Semper Training, Inc. held their second-annual PTSD and awareness ride at the Brunswick Harley Davidson in Troy.
Founder and trainer Sonya Ward started the nonprofit in January 2020. Proceeds of the event help dogs become PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) service animals.
Veterans and first responders can train with their own dog or be provided a dog from the organization at no cost.
Ward credits the local community for helping push the organization's mission forward,
"Without the support of our community which has been fantastic,” Ward said. “We couldn't do what we do and help our local heroes."
The Ibi Semper Training program meets weekly in a small group setting for eight months.
