First-year University at Albany men's basketball coach Dwayne Killings is under investigation for an alleged physical altercation with a player earlier this season, according to a source and a report published on the sports website Stadium.

The Stadium story was written by college basketball insider Jeff Goodman.

UAlbany released a statement Monday night, saying its Office of Employee Relations was notified of an alleged incident that occurred prior to a Great Danes road game in November.

"Consistent with campus policy and practice, the University immediately began a thorough and impartial investigation," the statement reads. "Because this process is ongoing, the University cannot comment further at this time."

Killings became the 16th head coach at Albany last March. He replaced Will Brown.
