Law enforcement authorities are looking for the driver of a vehicle who they say struck and killed a pedestrian in the village of South Glens Falls at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

While responding to a call for a man down, Glens Falls police, South Glens Falls firefighters and members of Moreau EMS found a man deceased in the road on Main Street at Fifth Street in the village, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office said in a statement on Monday.

Deputies who responded determined the victim, identified as village resident Paul Trombley, 67, was struck by an SUV, the sheriff's office said.

"The vehicle that struck the victim had fled the scene and has not been located," the sheriff's office said.

Deputies said the vehicle that struck Trombley appears to be a dark-colored compact SUV that was headed northbound at the time of the crash, and should have front-end damage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Kavanagh at (518) 885-6761 or mkavanagh@saratogacountyny.gov.

The Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in the investigation by South Glens Falls Police.
