There's a new charging option for electric vehicle drivers in Saratoga Springs.
The New York Power Authority installed four fast-charging stations near the Saratoga Springs City Center in the city's downtown.
The stations can be used by any make or model, and can recharge most batteries in as little as 20 minutes.
There are now eight fast-charging station in Saratoga Springs. Another was recently installed in Moreau.
“It’s important to have the charging infrastructure here so folks can get a charge when they need it without them really having to think about," said James Bright, a New York Power Authority senior project engineer. "So, the goal of the Evolve program is to reduce range anxiety, or eliminate it, and allow people to choose EV and make it an easy choice.”
Gov. Kathy Hochul recently signed legislation setting a goal for all new passenger cars and trucks sold in New York to emit zero emissions by 2035.
