The nation's supply chain issues are starting to ease just in time for Christmas, which means there still may be some challenges grabbing the perfect gift at the store.

But we're in luck, because Goodwill has about 42 stores across New York and New Jersey with sustainable and affordable products.

Between supply chain shortages and price hikes it can be extra tough to find the perfect gift this holiday season. There are so many Goodwill stores all across the state of New York that received about 29 million pounds of donated items a year, which means they have everything from Christmas decor to pre-loved appliances to choose from.

Low prices are why so many are flocking to the thrift store this year for Christmas gifts.

Some customers said an added bonus to thrifting is you never know when you’ll stumble upon a unique item.

And it’s your shopper dollars that can also be a gift to the community.

Employee Leslie Heath says revenue generated by the store is reinvested to support local employment programs or provide access to affordable clothing for job interviews.

“We take individuals with disabilities that may have trouble getting work and we help train them so they can get more independence,” she said.
