Montgomery County is taking steps to bring more public transportation to the area.
The county legislature approved a resolution in support of formally joining the Capital District Transit Authority. The county is calling on members of the state senate and assembly to secure funding to join the CDTA.
They estimate it would cost about $5 million to join.
Montgomery County Executive Matt Ossenfort applauded the legislature's move, saying, "Joining CDTA is a huge opportunity for Montgomery County to address a major transportation need and will increase the connectivity between our county and the rest of the Capital Region."
