A man who allegedly vandalized a Black Lives Matter mural in Albany was arrested and is expected to be arraigned Friday morning in City Court.
Ian Rawlinson, 43, of Albany, is charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief as a hate crime for spray painting “KKK” and drawing burning crosses on the mural Thursday afternoon, police said.
An officer quickly apprehended the suspect on Madison Avenue near Lark Street around 3:40 p.m. while responding to reports of a man defacing the mural, which is located on Lark Street between Hudson Avenue and Lancaster Street.
