The recent rain is creating some problems for boaters, swimmers and hikers in the Capital Region.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is warning about debris floating in Great Sacandaga Lake. That includes docks, trees and boats. The sheriff’s office is urging boaters to get off the lake when the sun goes down.

The rainfall is also having an impact on the North Country.

The state DEC sent out a warning saying several trails and campgrounds in the Adirondacks are flooded.

They are urging people to use caution around high water areas and never cross swollen rivers or streams.

The DEC says hikers who do hit the trails this weekend should wear waterproof boots and bring trekking poles, which help provide added stability.
