Nearly 20 Siena College students were temporarily dismissed from campus housing after a gathering this past weekend.

The college says students did not wear masks or follow social distancing protocols.

The students have not been suspended or dismissed from the college, however, and Siena says it is still investigating.

College President Chris Gibson says students signed a pledge to adhere to all safety guidelines when they returned to campus in August.

"While the overwhelming majority of our community members have been faithfully adhering to these regulations, violations must be decisively addressed for the safety and well-being of all," Gibson said in a statement.
