Albany police have identified two victims in a series of shootings Monday.

The first shooting Monday happened on Southern Boulevard around 2 p.m. Police Chief Eric Hawkins says multiple shots were fired into a car between McAlpin and Leighton streets. A 17-year-old and 25-year-old were inside.

Hawkins says the teen, identified as Akeem Hobdy of Albany, was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the other victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after 10 p.m. Monday, two other shootings happened. One was on Beverly Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, in which a 22-year-old man was shot in the leg and walked to Albany Memorial Hospital on his own. The other, on Moore Street near Saint George Place, left 19-year-old Ramone Gonzalez of Albany dead.

Police say both fatal shootings are still under investigation; anyone with information should call the APD's detective division at (518) 462-8039.

Police are not sure if these shootings are connected.
