A missing person case is now a homicide investigation after Troy police say the body of Michael McMahon was recovered.

The 49-year-old's remains were found Wednesday night in the woods around Earlton, Greene County. McMahon was missing since January and just last month, police say he was the victim in a domestic incident before his disappearance.

A woman was arrested and charged with strangulation and assault when that happened. So far, police have not connected the two incidents.
