Six-year-old Davonte Paul died almost two weeks ago in Lansingburgh, after he was found unresponsive in a bathtub on 5th Avenue earlier this month. The investigation into his death now says drowning is not believed to be the cause of death.

According to court documents filed by Rensselaer County Child Protective Services and given to Spectrum News by the child's father, Paul was taken to the hospital with an extremely low body temperature, indicative of hypothermia and bruising on multiple parts of his body.

Troy police say they are not able to discuss those specifics but they have ruled Devante 's death suspicious and are continuing the investigation.

Anyone who may have information regarding Paul's death is asked to call Troy Police immediately.
