A serious crash on Interstate 787 near exit 7 stopped traffic and closed all lanes Thursday morning.

A red Nissan was crushed under a tractor trailer, but both drivers involved survived the crash.

A State Police press release indicated Friday that the driver of the Nissan, 28-year-old Jelani Reyes-Craig of Watervliet, was ticketed for a number of violations:

  • Unsafe lane change
  • Speed not reasonable and prudent
  • Driving across hazardous markings
  • Unsafe tire
  • Reckless driving

The tractor trailer operator, 33-year-old Christopher Bacon of Fort Edward, wasn't injured in the crash.

Thursday, Watervliet Police Chief Anthony Geraci tweeted that the driver of the red vehicle was rescued and had only minor injuries.
