An Army veteran has pedaled all the way from Oregon to Albany.

Jimmy Thomas is doing it to raise awareness and money for Woofs for Warriors. The non-profit organization pairs therapy dogs with veterans to help them cope with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Thomas started his journey in Newport, Ore., in June, and finished in Albany on Friday. He biked more than 3,000 miles to raise support and hopefully make a positive impact.

"If I have to ride a bike across the country to make someone else's life better, that's seems like I can't imagine not doing that or quitting," Thomas said.

He has raised about $20,000 throughout the journey. Donations can be made at woofsforwarriors.org.
