Plans to repair or replace Albany's Lincoln Park Pool are moving forward.

Mayor Kathy Sheehan's office said the city has received more than $260,000 in funding for designs, plans, and permits on a potential replacement for the leaking pool.

According to the Lincoln Park Alliance, the pool loses thousands of gallons of water each day.

This makes it difficult to keep the 88-year-old pool at capacity and open.

Community groups are pitching in to raise money for repairs,  even hosting an ice cream fundraiser this weekend.

The mayor's office says a more specific timeline for the project and estimated costs will be part of that design process.
