The operator of the limousine company involved in the Schoharie crash that resulted in 20 dead has received a formal indictment on Friday.

Nauman Hussain, operator of Prestige Limousine received the indictment. Hussain was charged with 20 counts of criminal negligent homicide, and 20 counts manslaughter in the second degree.

When asked about the difficult in reaching this point, with the indictment, Schoharie County DA Susan Mallery said she could not discuss the process.

"We have worked with the New York State police ... We have worked extremely hard for the last six months."

When asked about her confidence in the case she said, "At this point the only thing that we'll say is we handed up the indictment, I don't think it's appropriate to discuss the case."

One of Hussain's attorneys sent Spectrum News a statement Friday.

“We have only seen reports in the press, but I can say that this is a flawed indictment, fundamentally at odds with itself. Mr. Hussain is not guilty of criminal wrongdoing and we will fight for him every step of the way,” said attorney Lee Kindlon.

Hussain's arraignment is set for April 10 at 4 p.m. Family of the victims are currently being notified.

Spectrum News will have more information as it becomes available.
