A hospital in Gloversville is turning to technology to provide victims of sexual assault with 24-hour care.
The Telesafe program at Nathan Littauer Hospital gives patients face to face care virtually. The program got its start thanks to one of the nurses there who noticed a lack of trained providers in the area.
Telesafe allows those experienced examiners to walk the nurses through exams.
"We wanted to give something to our community members; to our women especially that would ensure that they had very confident, compassionate, state of the art care," said SAFE certified nurse Tina Bagley.
The program was funded through the St. Peter's Hospital foundation and State department of health grants.
