1. Exclusive: Hochul says White House sending staffers to NYC to help process migrants

After an over two-hour meeting with White House top aides, Gov. Kathy Hochul said Wednesday she pressed the White House to find a path to get more asylum seekers employed. According to Hochul, starting Thursday, asylum seekers who have the U.S. Customs and Border of Protections app will receive app notifications about their work status.

People impersonating board of elections staff members are going to the homes of New Yorkers and questioning voters on their registration, according to county and state officials. In the Capital Region, two impersonators approached a woman who had just moved to Warren County, claiming she had illegally registered to vote. 3. Many Medicare recipients can't afford needed prescriptions, services coordinator says

Pay for needed medicine or pay for food. That’s the choice many Medicare recipients make every day, said Kelly Soller, services coordinator for the aging in Sullivan County. According to a RAND corporation study, prescription drug prices are more than two and a half times more expensive in the U.S. than other countries.
