With the hottest day of the summer likely upon us, it's best to hydrate and take it slow during the middle of the day as the hottest hours hit. While high temperatures reach the 80s to low 90s, it's the high humidity in combination that makes it feel like 95 to 100 degrees. Hazy sunshine prevails today and we'll heat up rapidly with a south breeze.

1. N.Y. Republican lawmakers file suit to overturn outside income limit

Republican state legislators are challenging the $35,000 pending limit on income lawmakers can earn outside of their elected jobs in a lawsuit filed this week. Lawmakers and Gov. Hochul approved a pay raise for legislators last year, increasing their salary to $142,000. That was coupled with a limit on outside income.
