Onovu Otitigbe-Dangerfield is the first African American to be named senior class valedictorian at Albany High School.
The 17-year-old is part of the robotics team. She credits having great examples at home, support from her teachers and believing in herself for her success.
Onovu is taking her success in stride. She hopes to serve as an inspiration to others by leaving behind a positive legacy, so she is not the last.
Onovu plans to study biomedical engineering and neuroscience at college. She is deciding on what university she wants to attend, with Harvard, Yale and Johns Hopkins under consideration.
