Ayyub Ali is always working and striving to achieve his dreams and goals. The 13-year-old Kipp Tech Valley eighth grader details his path to becoming a young entrepreneur in his book “I’ll Start Now.”

“This book is about how to become a young entrepreneur and the mindset it takes to become a young entrepreneur,” Ali said.

What You Need To Know

  • Ayyub Ali, 13, wrote a book about being a young entrepreneur

  • He said he wrote it to help motivate and inspire youths

  • Among other things, he designs and produces shirts in Albany

He says he wrote the book to motivate and inspire teenagers and kids. Published last year, Ali describes the challenges and obstacles he faces along the way to becoming an entrepreneur. That includes dealing with naysayers not buying into what he was trying to achieve because of his age.

“They don’t have to be a certain age to break obstacles or do what they want to do,” Ali said.

Many of his goals and business ideas are generated in an office at the corner of Dove Street and Orange Street in Albany. On this day, Ali is making t-shirts, which is part of his entrepreneurship.

“It’s cool to see something from nothing turn into a product,” said Ali, as he utilizes the heat press machine.

When Ali isn’t designing or producing t-shirts, he’s working on a podcast with his father called “Community Solutions.” It’s his favorite project so far, because they get to interview people on how to find solutions to problems in the community.

Ali says he has sold about a hundred copies of his book so far. He’s hoping it’ll help other young adults become entrepreneurs themselves.
