Albany Memorial campus plans to reopen at 7 a.m. Monday after flooding caused the campus to close this weekend.

Hospital officials say a faulty cap on a water pipe dislodged Friday afternoon, causing significant flooding in the building’s first floor, basement and subfloor.

“I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to everyone involved – especially our dedicated facilities team and restoration crews – who have been working around the clock to safely restore services to the Albany Memorial Campus,” Kim Baker, senior vice president of hospital operations for St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP), said in a statement. "I would also like [to] express my gratitude to our patients and colleagues for their understanding and flexibility, which have aided us in responding swiftly to this incident.”

Due to the flooding, all incoming emergency department patients were diverted to other nearby facilities and existing patients and employees were evacuated.

Officials say cleanup efforts in several patient care areas, the cafeteria and main elevators are ongoing and will continue likely for the next two weeks.

All patients, employees and visitors are being asked to enter through the campus' main entrance and follow all posted signage and way-finding.
