Members of New York State Police and the Ulster County Sheriff's Office forcibly removed protesters on the SUNY New Paltz campus. Several people were arrested, including a Spectrum News 1 reporter who was working to cover the situation.
2. Group urges Syracuse University to 'restore safety to your campus'
The organization End Antisemitism Now says more than 650 Syracuse University students and parents signed a letter sent to the university chancellor saying a growing pro-Palestinian encampment on campus represented "a significant threat to the safety and well-being of all students." They also urge the school to remove non-students and signs they say call for the destruction of Israel.
3. Push grows to expand New York's liquor shipment, container laws
State lawmakers want to expand the types of alcoholic beverages that can be directly shipped to New York consumers and how restaurants buy alcohol in the state before legislative session ends in about five weeks.
4. $2M to go to bring back Knickerbacker Ice Rink in Troy
About $2 million is being allocated to bring back the Knickerbacker Ice Rink in Troy. The rink was closed in 2018 because of maintenance issues related to the ice-making equipment and failed piping. The project will happen in two phases.

This weekend, state parks want to celebrate their centennial year with you. Parks and Trails New York hosts "I Love My Park" day on Saturday. They want people to get out and enjoy an area park or even volunteer to help spruce things up before the summer park season.
6. Live Updates: Trump's hush money trial enters 11th day
Hope Hicks, who served as Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign press secretary and went on to hold various roles in his White House, took the witness stand in his New York hush money case on Friday. Her testimony on the trial’s 11th day was the latest in a frenzied second week of witness testimony and followed that of forensic analyst Douglas Daus and paralegal Georgia Longstreet.

New York utility companies issue warning about aggressive scam tactics
Officials say these alleged scammers are taking photos of bills, asking for a payment with a pre-paid debit card or offering a discount. According to NYSEG and RG&E, they will never send someone to a home to do any of these things. Scammers are also using fake phone numbers to call and text people.
