The Saratoga Springs school board has voted in favor of a resolution that commits to supporting immigrant and transgender students.

The resolution, titled "Affirming Our Support For Every Student," calls on the community at large to ensure all students feel "valued, respected and empowered to succeed."

Some shared concerns Thursday about its potential impact on federal funding to the district, while board members say that funding accounts for about 2% of the district's overall budget.

Board members also say they've been in contact with the district's legal team, adding the resolution falls in line with guidelines and laws on both the state and federal levels.
