The Schenectady City School District is making changes amid recent safety concerns in schools.

The Board of Education voted to adopt a resolution to add weapons detection and enhance other safety measures. This comes on the heels of a knife fight where two students were hospitalized. Also, a BB gun was recently confiscated from a student on school grounds.

The resolution also includes plans to address the emotional and psychological needs of students and staff. And the board plans to expand staff, resources and programs as needed for school safety.
