Saratoga Springs has voted down a proposition that would have created a council-manager form of city government.

With all precincts reporting, 54 percent of voters (6,324) voted no, with 45 percent (5,186) voting yes.

Three years ago, a proposal to implement a new form of government in the city failed by just 10 votes.

The city will continue to utilize its long-standing commissioner form of government, in which the council is made up of a mayor and four commissioners who each oversee their own department.

State Assembly District 113

Incumbent Democrat Carrie Woerner, with absentee ballots still outstanding, looked to be holding off a tough challenge from Republican David Catalfamo.

Woerner, with all precincts reporting, had 50.8 percent of the vote (29,896 votes) to Catalfamo’s 49.2 percent (28,905).

State Assembly District 108

Incumbent Democrat John McDonald looked to be on his way to re-election Tuesday night. With a little more than 90 percent of precincts reporting, McDonald had more than 66 percent of the vote over challengers Petros Papanicolaou and Sam Fein.

State Senate District 45

Daniel Stec looks to move from the Assembly to the Senate chamber.

The Republican led Democratic challenger Kimberly Davis on Tuesday, with 62.8 percent of the vote before absentee ballot counting.

The North Country seat was vacated when Sen. Betty Little retired.

State Senate District 46

The Republicans looked to be on pace to hold this seat Tuesday night, with Rich Amedure leading Democrat Michelle Hinchey 51.4-47.8 as 91.24 percent of the precincts had reported.

George Amedore had held the seat since 2015, but announced he wouldn't be seeking re-election.

State Senate District 49

Incumbent Republican Jim Tedisco looks to be on his way to re-election over challenger Thearse McCalmon.

As of midnight, Tedisco had a little more than 73 percent of the vote, with almost 68 percent of precincts reporting.

State Senate District 44

Longtime State Sen. Neil Breslin looks to have another term locked up. With almost 98 percent of precincts reporting Tuesday night, Breslin, a Democrat, was outpacing challenger David Yule with almost 70 percent of the vote.
