A new training event is helping people train for the Scottish Games.
The Empire Throwing Club is holding its second annual Scottish Games training day for beginners. Experienced throwers will be teaching participants about the six main highland games events they can compete in, as well as the different throwing instruments used in competition and proper form. Club founder Mac Dillman says the goal of training day is to introduce people to the sport regardless of skill level.
“As long as somebody’s in pretty good health, there’s a class for you and there’s really a way for everybody to participate and be competitive,” said Dillman.
Scottish Games Training Day is this Saturday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Kelley Park in Ballston Spa. Registration is required. The cost is $10 and includes the equipment participants will be using. For more information head to www.empirethrowingclub.com
