The Albany man who as a teenager became the face of New York state's Raise the Age movement has been arrested again.
Marquis Dixon, 21, is charged for possessing a stolen vehicle while on parole.
Albany police say they observed him get into the car near Sheridan and Lark in the city on Sunday, and made the arrest. They say the car was reported stolen earliler that day.
Dixon has had a checkered history since his arrest, conviction, and sentencing to nine years in prison, all at the age of 16 for stealing a pair of sneakers. Dixon's age at that time in 2014 helped propel the movement to raise the age that a juvenile can be tried as an adult.
Dixon was released, retried, and given a much shorter sentence. He was in trouble with the law again in 2017, however, for allegedly threatening his mother with a knife inside their Albany home.
