Albany County on Sunday reported that another resident in their 60s died from COVID-19.

County Executive Dan McCoy reminded residents to get vaccinated to protect themselves and control the spread.

But he also said there is some positive news. There were no new hospitalizations since Saturday.

In addition, the number of new positive cases has dropped dramatically. 

Sixty new positive cases have been identified since Saturday, down 79 from the day before.

In total, there are now 566 active cases in the county and 29 residents are currently in the hospital with COVID-19.

As of Saturday, more than 72% of residents received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 66% are fully vaccinated.
