If you’re a Social Security recipient, you will be paid on time throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
The SSA noted this Tuesday, saying payments and Supplemental Security Income payments will not be affected as the United States works to slow the spread of COVID-19.
“I want our beneficiaries to be aware that scammers may try to trick you into thinking the pandemic is stopping or somehow changing your Social Security payments, but that is not true. Don’t be fooled,” said Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul.
The SSA also noted that it doesn’t have information on upcoming payments under the recently-signed coronavirus relief bill, as that will be handled by the Treasury Department, which will have information soon, it said.
