Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has suspended "all in-person instruction" on campus beginning Monday.

RPI President Shirley Ann Jackson announced that the school "is suspending all in-person instruction, and is moving to online and other alternative learning options" beginning Monday through at least March 30. The campus in Troy will stay open, but have "limited and/or reduced services."

The suspension extends to "university-sponsored events, including events sponsored by student organizations," according to the press release, but does not extend to NCAA competition for athletic teams. Over the weekend, RPI announced it wouldn't have spectators in the arena for an upcoming ECAC hockey quarterfinal series against Harvard.

Spectrum News will have more information as it becomes available.
