The Regional Food Bank is teaming with the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Capital Region, Team Hero Mentoring and the state Assembly to open four new food pantries in Rensselaer County.
They will be opening within Boys and Girls Club clubhouses and will be used to help families supplement their options for healthy food on the weekends when school is not in session.
"This partnership here with these clubs will help us close the meal gap that is so necessary for us to do," said Regional Food Bank Senior Development Officer John Buntich. "Some of these kids are our most vulnerable who go to the clubs. They need it more than others; their families are also really in need."
