Rainfall has been well below average for the past three months across eastern New York. This June was the fourth-driest in recorded history at Poughkeepsie, with just 1.12 inches of rainfall.

Eastern New York has been in a moderate drought the past several weeks due to an abnormally dry May, June, and July.

While Isaias did cause some headaches with downed trees, power outages, and some minor flooding, this rainfall was also a blessing.

While the Lake George region and parts of the southern Adirondacks are still in a moderate drought, most areas that were seeing moderate drought conditions are now much better off. In fact from the Catskills up to the Mohawk Valley that were abnormally dry, are now in great shape.
