Gov. Kathy Hochul and Republican nominee for governor Lee Zeldin are facing off against each other in Spectrum News’ general election debate tonight.
The debate starts at 7 p.m. at Pace University in New York City, and is the only scheduled gubernatorial debate.
Hochul, a Democrat, is seeking her first full term as governor after assuming office following Andrew Cuomo resignation in August 2021. Lee Zeldin won the party's nomination in June, and is currently a congressman representing Suffolk County on Long Island.
