A big question remains this Sunday: will we see Major League Baseball in Buffalo?

The Buffalo Bisons are in talks with the Toronto Blue Jays about possibly bringing the Major League Baseball team to Sahlen Field this summer.

The Canadian government denied the MLB team the approval it needed to play in Toronto as coronavirus cases surge in the United States, while Canada has largely flattened the curve.

Now, it looks like Buffalo could be a possible solution to the Queen City’s northern neighbor.

Mike Buczowski, president of Rich Baseball Operations, released the following statement:

“The Bisons organization has been in discussion with the Blue Jays for several days about the possibility of hosting Major League games at Sahlen Field this summer. We are continuing to explore the best ways to adapt the available spaces in our ballpark to meet the needs of the Blue Jays.”

No decisions have been made final at this time.

Local leaders in Western New York chimed in on the news in Toronto. Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown said he’d love to see the Blue Jays play in Buffalo.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz took to Twitter Saturday, saying “the ‘Buffalo Blue Jays’ sound good to me.”
