LOCKPORT, N.Y. — The Lockport Central School District says it has become aware of another threat on social media.

This comes after students at Lockport High School and Lockport High School West were shifted to remote learning on Thursday because of threats discovered online.

The district released this statement addressing the most recent threat:

"The district is aware of another social media post pertaining to a potential threat at Lockport High School. This information has been turned over to the Lockport Police Department who will continue to work with federal partners to investigate the origin. Lockport High School will be open on Friday, December 3, 2021, with increased police presence and student bag checks at entrances. We appreciate that many of you shared the post with us. Thank you for your continued cooperation.”

District officials did not elaborate on the nature of any of the threats but did say they are working with the FBI and local police to interview students and further investigate the posts.

No other schools in the Lockport district have been impacted.

Schools in the Olean City School District shifted to remote learning on Friday because of an unspecified social media threat made Thursday night. The Batavia City School District closed schools on Friday because of the same issue. School officials are working with law enforcement to investigate the threats in those districts as well.
