Chris Jacobs was sworn into the United States House of Representatives Tuesday morning in Washington D.C. as the newest member of Congress.
He is replacing former Congressman Chris Collins, who resigned from the 27th Congressional District seat last year when he pleaded guilty to insider trading.
Jacobs will fill the seat until the end of the term at the end of the year. He is up for re-election in November for a full term.
At the same time Jacobs is set be to sworn in, Democratic challenger Nate McMurray says he will give an update on the election. McMurray ran against Jacobs in the special election and plans to run again, hoping to unseat Jacobs in November.
